Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is someone I would love to join me at my ‘Last Supper’ – you know when people ask you the question of – ‘Who would you like to eat a meal with, dead or alive?’ – Yeah Dr. Martin Luthe King Jr. would be one of those people that I would feel honored to dine with.
This isn’t an article about all the accomplishments he did in his life, but remember and be inspired by him. Him, like you, was not a perfect man or did everything that everyone would consider the right thing to do, but his impact and footprint is legendary. I challenge you to sit down for a few minutes today and brush yourself up on what this man has done because he truly has done MANY more things than what you learned in grade school.
Here are some of his memorable quotes to name a few.
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”
“Life’s most urgent question is: what are you doing for others?”
“Never succumb to the temptation of bitterness.”
“Whatever your life’s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.”
And right now, as we start another four years with a new President of the United States of America may just be the right time for you to act on some of his questions.
