We caught up with EBOOST Ambassador, Quincy France to see how he is not letting 2020 bring him down by still chasing his goals and keeping healthy!
E: How are you staying fit without being able to go to the gym?
QF: I have always been comfortable working out without weights. I have a few kettlebells, a pair of dumbells, and a steel mace in the house, so I did lots of workouts with those. Then when the city opened outdoor workout areas to the public that became my gym.
E: What is your go-to workout people can do at home?
QF: Push-ups and squats are a great way of getting a great workout. Just add some resistance bands and you can do a variety of workouts.
For extra credit add a jump rope, so you can annoy your neighbors while you stay in shape. (E: Good one! Ha!)
I like using a Tabata timer which helps intensify my workout by forcing me to stay strict to the times I have set.
Example: try doing push-ups for 30 seconds with 10 seconds rest for 8 rounds.
E: If there is one piece of equipment someone could get the most results from while working out at home (or the local park), what would it be?
QF: A jump rope is a great tool to work cardio and endurance. 10 minutes of jumping rope is almost the equivalent of running a mile. But the reality is that your body is the only equipment you need to get a great workout. Get up and move!
E: What is your favorite ‘easy button’ meal to make at home?ย
QF: My โeasy buttonโ meal must be overnight oats. I can prepare it the night before and enjoy it for breakfast. I like to change up the ingredients adding combinations of nuts and nut butters and a variety of fruits.
One of my favorite combinations is:
- Oatmeal (steel cut)
- Water
- Coconut flakes
- Almonds
- Cinnamonย
- Fresh strawberries
E: When ordering Door Dash/Uber Eats, how do you make sure you order a healthy meal?
QF: I would order mostly salads from places like chopped or sweet greens. That way I am sure to eat non processed foods and unwanted additives associated with most fast-food places.
E: What is your favorite healthy snack?
QF: Apples, but most fruits except melons are my favorite.
E: What is keeping you motivated right now?
QF: My motivation is and always will be my son. I look forward to him having kids and being a granddad or just watching him become the best human being he can be, while I continue to beat him in basketball.
E: What is your favorite EBOOST product right now and why?
QF: Ginger lime SUPER FUEL is my hands-down my favorite. The other flavors are great but the ginger lime combination is perfect. Not to mention itโs non-gmo and only 1g sugar makes it a perfect energy drink for me.
E: What does your morning routine look like (if you have one)?
QF: I usually wake up around 5am read an educational book, either a training manual or sometimes a self-help book. Then I eat some fruit or overnight oats. Write notes or create programs for clients before getting in a quick workout, taking a shower, and starting the rest of my day.
E: What is your motto right now?
“Fastest way to get anything done is to start! So start now.” -Quincy France
