EBOOST Ambassador, Lauren Hutchinson is a Barrys SF + nutrition coach
plus, she kills it as a full stack web developer. She defines what it means to be #happytobehere and we are glad we got to catch up with her last month to see how she is honing in on her #happytobehere slogan this year.
E: How are you staying fit without being able to go to the gym?
LH: I stay fit by taking Barrys at Home and Barrys Outdoor classes! If I want more cardio, I love taking my friend’s SoulCycle classes or going for a run. Something I’ve loved is supporting other fitness instructors who have begun building their new online brand and hosting their own workouts online!
E: What is your go-to workout people can do at home?
LH: My go-to at home workout would definitely be Barrys at Home. A wide range of classes are offered from bands, to weights, to bodyweight.
E: What is your favorite ‘easy button’ meal to make at home?
LH: My favorite quick meal is a big bowl of OATS. I pack my bowl with protein powder, hemp seeds, cinnamon, nut butters, banana, creatine, and whatever else sounds good that day like berries, chocolate etc. It keeps me full for my morning classes teaching + my workouts, not to mention it only takes a few minutes to make while staying healthy.
E: When ordering Door Dash/Uber Eats, how do you make sure you order a healthy meal?
LH: I don’t order Door Dash too often, but when I do, I usually order some sushi and some soup! It keeps me full and warms me up these winter nights. Sushi is also a healthy option that provides great protein + variety. Always order something that makes you happy, and without guilt. It’s so important to be kind to ourselves! That has the biggest positive impact on how you look and feel.
E: What is keeping you motivated right now?
LH: I want to look back at this time in my life and say even though the times felt down, I stayed looking up. I want to keep getting better and plant seeds now for the life I want to bloom later. I ask myself if I’m proud of the person I am and the decisions I’ve made. If you’re not happy, its either time for a change or there is something you’re not seeing.
E: What is your favorite healthy snack?
LH: Easily almond butter + banana in a fresh, warm, flour tortilla, it’s so good and feels like you’re eating a sweet crepe! Or my oatmeal bowl.
E: What is your favorite EBOOST product right now and why?
LH: I am obsessed with the EBOOST SUPER FUEL. It truly starts my day off on the right note every day. It is so refreshing and gives me the kick I need for my classes without the jitters. I never begin my day without it!
E: What does your morning routine look like (if you have one)?
LH: I either wake up to take an early workout class or go straight to teach Barry Outdoors with a SUPER FUEL in hand. On the way to class, I love listening to a podcast to practice my Spanish or get inspired by other awesome podcasters. Pre-class, my first breakfast is usually the oatmeal bowl, and then I have a second breakfast later in the morning usually consisting of avocado toast + eggs while I work on playlisting for classes, or coding (my other job!).
E: If there is one piece of equipment someone could get the most results from while working out at home (or the local park), what would it be?
LH: I would definitely say you can never go wrong with a set of dumbbells or a mini-band (or band kit). There’s so much you can do with those items that makes it easy to work out from home and continue building strength.
E: What is your motto right now?
LH: Speak kindly to yourself, speak kindly to others.
