Staying Fit in 2020 with Danny Skelly

As we end 2020, we hope you enjoyed our mini-series catching up with our EBOOST Ambassador sharing some of the ways they are staying positive and healthy. We hope some of their advice will trickle into your 2021, as well. Here is one last catch up with EBOOST Ambassador Danny Skelly.

E: How are you staying fit without being able to go to the gym?

DS: Luckily I have all the essentials in my possession. I try my best to stay on a regimented schedule doing 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weights every day as well as giving myself a day or two of stretching and mobilizing.

E: What is your go-to workout people can do at home?

DS: Nothing gets my heart rate up like an AMRAP. My go-to full body blaster is a 10:00 minutes of 30 Jumping Jacks, 20 squats, 10 push-ups. I like to do this twice a week to track my progressions. Remember it’s YOU vs YOU!

E: What is your favorite ‘easy button’ meal to make at home?

DS: Breakfast is my fav!!I am an egg scrambler over an english muffin kinda guy 🙂

E: When ordering Door Dash/Uber Eats, how do you make sure you order a healthy meal?

DS: I always try and make sure I have the essentials when ordering out. A healthy protein with limited carbs with lots and lots of greens. Remember you have to enjoy what you eat or else it becomes boring. Excite your taste buds with all the vibrant colors that vegetables have to offer!

E: What is keeping you motivated right now?

DS: Times right now has been like a crazy bad dream but I know one day I am going to wake up from the bad dream. So I guess staying hungry knowing that this pandemic is only going to make me stronger both mentally and physically. 

E: What is your favorite healthy snack?

DS: My favorite healthy snack has to be fresh fruit over some plain greek yogurt.

E: What is your favorite EBOOST product right now and why?

DS: I love the POW Berry Melon pre-workout. This pre-workout gets me in the zone and pushes me to new exertions. I feel I can be my own worst enemy in a workout but this pre-workout gets me out of my own head and pushes me both harder and longer!

E: What does your morning routine look like (if you have one)?

DS: My morning routine stays consistent. As soon as I wake up I like to meditate for 20 minutes which allows me to focus on the brand new day. During these 20 minutes, it allows me to find my breath as well as setting my intentions for a brand new day. Lots of water and coffee before I take my favorite big head out on a walk. His name is Dublin and he is a 75 # Blue Pitbull. He will be two in January. He really is my everything!! My workout usually follows Dublin’s long walk because it sometimes is my warm-up haha but I love morning workouts because it gives me more energy throughout the day.  

E: If there is one piece of equipment someone could get the most results from while working out at home (or the local park), what would it be?

DS: I love love love the jump rope.
