Whether you are a YouTuber, DVD queen, workout app slave, world traveler or just want to spend some time outside of the gym there are plenty of workouts you can do anywhere that are as sweaty (or even sweaty) than ones spent at a fitness facility. Plus, they do not cost a single penny.
Instead of the stair stepper, I bet you have some stairs at your disposal so get stepping. If you do not have any stairs around you can easily use a chair too. Try setting a timer for thirty to sixty-seconds and see how many reps of an up-up-down-down routine you can get in the set amount of time. Alternate your starting foot each round. Complete an even number of rounds so that each foot gets the equal time being the leading foot.
Instead of chest presses, do some push-ups on varying inclines. You can use different things like putting your hands on a bench outside, a coach, or your bed for incline push-ups. Alternatively, you can put your feet where your hands were for decline push-ups. If you have a ball laying around try placing the ball under one hand and do alternating push-ups on the ball. Try lifting up one leg to increase the difficulty of your push-ups or try the spider variation at different inclines.
Instead of medicine ball ab (kayaks) twists, work your obliques with any weighted item. You can perform the exact same move with a weighted item that you can comfortably and safely hang on to and perform the exact same exercise. Challenge yourself more by finding a heavier weighted item to use.
Instead of the treadmill, go run outside. You can achieve any long distance run, trail run or fast interval sprints with the great outdoors. In fact, running outside is harder than running on a treadmill since you have the wind and environment that you are trying to run your way through too!.Plus, you have to propel yourself forward, unlike on a treadmill where you are running just to keep up with a belt moving beneath you.
