You may remember our earlier blog post about EBOOST’s involvement in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Well, the event took place on June 18th and 19th and was a huge success, raising over $11m for the BC Cancer Foundation. Here’s a summary of the event from Matthew Clayton, the head of EBOOST Canada. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
Thank you to all our EBOOST friends and family that helped support our team in theย Enbridge Ride To Conquer Cancer. Our team finished up with close to 70 riders, all of whom answered the call on June 18th and 19th for this incredible cause.
We raised $228,000 dollars, and almost hit our target of $250,000. It was only due rider cancellations that we fell short of our goal. Overall we were the 4th highest team in BC!
The journey took us 240 kilometers from Vancouver to Seattle and it is an experience that none of us will ever forget. The weather was cold and wet, but our determination to finish never wavered. We had a few cycling injuries day one that stopped a few riders from completing, but other than that everyone of us crossed the line! This was a team effort in every sense of the word.
Special thanks to my partner Kyle Washington who supported the event with incredible class and hospitality. Thanks to Kyle, our team was treated like gold after each long day, and the events were thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended. I would like to personally thank Jason Binab, Chris Mavrikos and Tim Quocksister for the extra efforts they put forward in organizing our fundraising events and corporate sponsors, without them we would not have achieved the kind of fundraising we did. I would like to Primal Cycling wear for putting together a great set of riding outfits, our team looked incredible the entire journey.
Thank you to all our corporate sponsors who stood behind us: VI Fitness, Seaspan, Blakes Law, Local Kitchen, Licious Living, Whistler Water, Philip Nyren, The Bike Gallery and Graphic FX. It was fantastic to have EBOOST founders Josh Taekman and John McDonald join the ride; I know it was an experience they will never forget either.
Our team is already talking about next year, and how we can beat our total for this fabulous cause and event. EBOOST was the official Health & Wellness product for the ride and we hope to be there next year bigger than ever. We BOOSTed over 3000 bottles in 2 days!! Thank you again for all the support that everyone showed us, we will see you next year ready to take this challenge on one more time!
Thank you to all the Ride to Conquer Cancer staff who made sure EBOOST was well represented each and every day to the riders, they are a class act in all regards.
Until next year โ Health & Happiness.
Matthew Clayton
