In Episode 3 of Joe vs. Gym, Joe Fauria pushes through an enduring a calisthenics workout at Fort Hamilton Athletic Field with Brooklyn’s very own Stephen Navaretta. Stephen, aka ‘Brooklyn Tank’. Joe utilizes his own strength to push himself harder than ever before, in a proven effort to get the best workout possible with almost no equipment.
Very little bells and whistles in this workout. Stephen has an impressive break dancing background and came up with his own methods of a trying fitness regimen like no other.
Stephen Navaretta, AKA Brooklyn Tank, coined the workout “Tank Burpees,” a very intense set of burpees you can see in this episode. Another unique and interesting workout included ‘Tank Gorilla Pushups’ which are performed on your knuckles.
Other steps of this workout included:
- Crunches
- Sit-ups
- Repetition
- Hip Mobility
- Running
FACT: Brooklyn Tank was with a friend when a passerby noticed his physique and workout methods. He called him a tank. Stephen’s friend suggested he change his instagram handle, and that’s how it all started. Now you can find Navaretta on Instagram by adding the handle @brooklyntank718
