Karlie Kloss,ย one of Victoria Secrets’s Angels, made she sure filled her suitcase with a lot of healthy nutrition boosting products to prep her for traveling to the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show, and all thanks to dietitianย Molly Rieger. Molly Reiger is half of the women power behind the online nutrition consulting company, Totiva Nutrition. She has been featured in Marie Claire, Elite Daily, SAKARA, Refinery 29, Greatist, and The Sweat Scene to name a few.
Karlie and Molly sat down to share their favorite healthy products, Karlie packed with her to prepare for the show. It was important that these products help keep Karlie optimal nutrition aligned while traveling, but we really think a lot of these products are great to have on hand all the time.
Molly’s focus for Karlie when selecting items is to make sure they serve a purpose to the body. She picks products that contain as many whole foods as possible while also checking the label to see if any unnecessaryย ingredients are thrown into the equation.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Protein Bars
It may be safe to say that if you are on the go a lot or lead a very active life, then protein bars may just be your best friend. Not just any protein bar though, leave the ones with all of the added crap on the shelf. Picking ones that taste good, give you the needed protein and satisfy your hunger rank high on our list. Like Molly, we are personal fans of RxBar and Aloha too. When the packaging lists the ingredients in plain sight on the front of the package, it is hard to say no. Plus, flavors like chocolate sea salt leave you satisfyingย your chocolate craving too!
Dandelion Root Tea
Dandelion Root is great in keeping things moving out of the back end (if you know what I mean). It keeps things regular because it is a natural diuretic. When we travel a lot of the time we can have issues with keeping everything flowing. In addition, Dandelion Root is great forย strengthening the immune system and balancing blood sugar levels too. Traditional Medicinals’ roasted dandelion root tea is one of our favorites too.
Adaptogens
Adaptogens are names as much because of their ability to regulate the adrenal glands and help the body adapt to stress. Our body does a great job at coping with stress, but since we live a society where we are usually always around stress our body is always in flight or fight mode. Adaptogens help our bodies to recharge our adrenal glands. Adaptogens include but are not limited to ashwagandha, astragalus, moringa, ginseng, licorice root and holy basil. A few adaptogen brands really hitting adrenal home runs are Amazing Grass’s Beauty Elixir, Four Sigmaticย and all of its mushroom glory, and Sun Potion’s Yin Powder.
Natural Energy
Molly couldn’t have said it better herself. EBOOST’s SUPER POWDER (hey, that is us) is her natural Redbull. Not only does it give you (natural) wings, it is loaded with essential vitamins, electrolytes, and anti-oxidants keeping you hydrated and full of the good stuff leaving all artificial ingredients out of our products. Like Molly mentioned our SUPER POWDER is great to help you combat jet lag and just give you a steady energy boost whenever you are feeling it from green tea and green coffee seed.
Kale Chips
A crunchy salt lover’s dream, Kale chips are a way better choice then the pretzels they pass out on the plane or any chip you finding yourself reaching for. Kale chips are salty and crunchy without adding to the waistline both in pounds and bloat. Kale delivers iron to the body, one of the essential vitamins that a lot of us don’t get our daily requirements in every day. Brad’s Veggie Chips are one of the best no guilt snacks around.
