If there is one thing to learn about Thanksgiving eating, is that our digestive system has probably been working on overdrive the past couple of days. All of that digesting of food can be pretty taxing on the body, but did you know that some exercises are great for the digestive system?ย We are taking a page out of Tracy Anderson’s book, by catering today’s workout feature to cater to our overworked digestive system and boost some digestion.
One reason why our digestive systems work a bit of overtime over the holidays (this isn’t only because we are eating more) is that we throw our stomach’s circadian rhythm off. Our stomach’s circadian rhythm is a schedule it likes to follow. When we overeat or eat at different times or different time zones, etc… it throws ourย systems out of whack. It likes to keep on a certain schedule to keep things moving. To counteract this, adding in a workout routine that helps digestion is one way to help beat it.
Plus, if you are still traveling, squeezing in even 6-minutes can do your body a lot more than you think. You don’t need to be pouring with sweat all of the time for your body to gain the benefits.
Tracy Anderson created this 6-minute ab blaster specifically for Well x Good and our post-Thanksgiving needs. You can find her workout here. We thought we would create our own version, but we will save that for another time. Tracy Anderson is great at creating moves unlike anyone else, and really working your balance and core is key for your digestion, in this case, so we are leaving yourย digestion all to her!
