You don’t need a gym withdrawing money out of your bank account to be considered fit. Skipping the gym, saving some cash and still being fit is totally possible. We even have been hosting some Sweat Nights at The William Vale in Brooklyn, NYโour next one is September 18th, check out our blog post here for more details. Read on to hear more ways in which you can work out, be fit and not feel like your soul is owned by your local gym.
Find FREE events around town!
A little google search or hopping over to the event discovery area of Facebook will lead you to tons of free workout events around your local town. I bet you will even find a new workout or workout group that you didn’t even know existed!
Invest in a bike
Like a lot of people, you have been probably thinking of buying a bike for a long time. Well, now is the time to put your money where your mouth is! Ride your sweet butt to work. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but literally there is something about arriving to work, already have worked out and immediately get a bunch of work done purely from your workout high! PLus, you will have a nice relaxing commuteย home taking it all of Mother Nature’s glory.
Snag a light kettlebell/dumbbell and a resistance band
When you are at home, don’t jump on the couch and never get up. Instead, create a small little space and drop it like it’s hot. You don’t need to lift massive amounts of weight to be in shape. Heck, a lot of those guys that lift a ridiculous amount of weight, really aren’t fit for life, they can just lift heavy shit. But you, you will be more ready for when the zombie apocalypseย finally strikes us one day! There is a bazillion, yeah literally a bazillionย workoutsย online. Anywhere from youtube, to Tracy Andersonย to Nike Training to right here on EBOOST workouts all over and all at reach on your computer. Ha and maybe get a little crazy and pick up a Jillian Micheals DVD and dust off that old thang.
Stand at your desk
Seriously, I need to take this advice to heart too! You can burn so many more calories just from standing at your computer instead of sitting. Even, furniture makers are on board and creating stand up desks in the plenty. Research shows that people are actually more productive standing than sitting at their computers, fancy that!
So, seriously, if your gym is kind of a drag lately, cancel it (or put it on hold if you are a bit afraid to break up cold turkey with your gym) and give these other ways to stay in shape a try! At the very least, it will give you a break and create a bit more spice in your relationship with the gym when you are ready to step back through its doors!
