Do you ever go to the store just for one thing? Yeah? Same here. I like to listen to my body and pay attention to what it craves. Typically, I find myself going to the grocery store just for an avocado. What is super disappointing though, is that 90% of the time the avocado is never ripe enough to eat within the next hour or so–until now.
Thanks to The Avocado Sock, our avo prayers have been answered. It is a woolen sock that promises to ripen your avocado within 24 hours. Okay, so not immediately but still a heck of a lot quicker than days. Yes, even quicker than the ol’ paper bag trick. Apparently, the natural lanolin from the wool ripens it ‘evenly and gently.’
“The Avocado Sock™ is an all-natural, effective way to ensure you have a perfectly ripe avocado every single time. Simply insert an unripened avocado into the sock, and in as little as 24 hours, it will be ready to enjoy. Sometimes, the oldest tricks work the best, and the effectiveness of the Avocado Sock is no exception. It’s an organic, back-to-basics product that encourages the consumption of healthy avocados in an over-processed and plastic-filled world.” – The Avocado Sack website
And yes the sock can ripen other fruits and vegetables just as well too!
What are your thoughts? Would you give a wool sock a try or stick or a paper bag, or even suffer for days without avocado toast?
