No this isn’t a post where we hype up everything great about Nike. This article is dedicated to the fact that our big holiday eating marathons are over and you are probably feeling a bit unmotivated to get back on the fitness wagon. You have thoughts that New Year is right around the corner so you may as well wait for next Monday, right? Wrong.
.Just Do It.ย
I know working out can be complicated, but really all you have to do is just do it. Just walk into the gym and see where it takes you. You don’t have to prep ahead of time, except maybe bringing some workout clothes with you to change into after work. It really is that simple. We constantlyย fight the thoughts and find that not doing it always so much easier. But really is it that much easier. It is easy to say no, but more and more you say no, the more and more the pounds could pack on. Having to reverse those pounds is definitely WAY harder than following the motto, ‘Just Do It’.
.Sign-up.
Go online and sign up for classes ahead of time. A lot of the time those classes come with a cancellation fee or a no show fee. Which personally, I absolutely hate getting charged those fees. Signing up ahead of time holds yourself accountable to show up. And literally, the hardest thing about workout classes is showing up. The rest of the hard work is left to the instructor to decided what s/he is going to make you do during your hour.
.Phone A Friend.
Make workout dates with your friends this week. Having someone to hold yourself accountable will increase the chances of you getting in your next workout. Plus, I am sure there are some fun holiday stories to share of your embarrassing family members.
.New Kicks.
If you are like me, you got something related to working out as a present this weekend. Don’t you want to show off your shiny new shoes or your newest trendiest top or leggings, I know I certainly do – I put those things on, the first thing this morning.ย Having your workout clothes already on definitely makes you feel like a real failure if you don’t step foot into the gym at some point.
.Pick You Favorite Workout.
What makes your first workout more exciting than doing your favorite workout. It is so motivating to want to workout with your favorite instructor or do your favorite exercises.
What are some ways you keep yourself motivated after a long, all rules out the window eating type weekend?
