Diets come and go like those last five stubborn pounds that always seem to come and go, but this diet might actually be more familiar than you think.
You may have heard of the name Dubrow before if you have ever watched The Real Housewives of Orange County or the latest version of the TV show, Botched. That is right Heather and Terry Dubrow have now made their own diet and their book about the diet is already topping the charts.
The Dubrow Diet is a mix of the Keto Diet and Intermittent Fasting. The Dubrow Diet doesn’t focus on cutting out carbohydrates completely but more or less keeping the number of carbohydrates on the low end. Take that premise and add in just an eight-hour eating window of healthy foods and you pretty much have the Dubrow Diet. There isn’t any macro counting just follow these three rules: eating all of your food within an eight-hour window, eating clean and simple food and controlling your portions. And the best news is, that you can allow yourself some cheat meals too!
The biggest benefit according to the Dubrow Diet and the foundation behind the diet is how this diet can keep you looking and feeling young. The diet activates the anti-aging ability found in your cells, due to a process of cell turnover called autophagy. I mean, the Dubrows do look pretty young, youthful, and great looking for their ages. They claim that the diet can make you look like you had plastic surgery without the downtime.
The way this benefit works is through three stages your body goes through when you start the diet.
Red Carpet Ready
The first phase is intended to shock your system. The Dubrow Diet recommends fasting for 16 hours a day for two to five days per week. During this phase, you must also abstain from alcohol but can drink coffee, water, and tea. This is to reset your hunger and fullness cues so that you understand what your body needs and how it tells you. You move to stage two after you feel like you understand your body’s cues again and not think for your body.
Summer Is Coming
This second phase is most likely a longer phase. In this phase, you stay here until you reach your goal weight. You can make this quicker or longer depending on how you tailor the diet. For instance, if you want to do it fast, you’d stick with a 16-hour reset and 8-hour refuel window and while taking your time would mean a 12-hour fast and 12-hour refuel window. During this phase, you’re also allowed to consume moderate amounts of alcohol.
Look Hot While Living Like A Human
This is the third phase and the maintenance phase. The goal in this phase is to maintain your weight loss and continue reaping the benefits of the autophagy process. This phase a little bit of phase one and phase two in it with five 12-hour fast days per week and two 16-hour fast days.
