Think about it, your body probably hasn’t had anything for around eight hours. Water is the best way to rehydrate your body, start up the digestion system, and wake up the body.
Nutritionists recommend waking up and drinking two 16-ounce glasses of room temperature water. Although there isn’t a whole lot of evidence behind whether or not temperature is a concern, drinking room temperature is more normal for the body in that it wouldn’t have to deal with reacting to extreme temperatures. Think about waking up to getting cold water dumped on your head, yeah not so pleasant.
So what does drinking water in the morning teach you?
Well, first off you will learn more about what your body is asking for rather than just reaching for what you want. A lot of the times when we are dehydrated we confuse those signals for wanting something salt or sugary when really our body just needs to be hydrated.
Second, water could be your answer to feeling more energized. Think about it? If a car isn’t properly oiled and lubricated in all of its working mechanisms then it isn’t going to run efficiently. If your body isn’t properly filled up with fluids that you aren’t going to run at its best either. Not only is low energy a sign, but also if you feel like your skin is dry and itchy next time don’t reach for the lotion, reach for a glass of water instead.
