Meet EBOOT Ambassador Alan Filauro
Tell us a little bit about your fitness journey, Alan.
My fitness journey began while playing Division 1 baseball at West Virginia University, after which a spinal injury forced me to turn down an offer to play for the Milwaukee Brewers. My road to recovery is where my passion for health and fitness was born. I have now been working in the fitness industry for five years, picking a new certification to complete every year and training all realms of athletes. I design classes to challenge you, but more importantly, to maximize your time and effort. My philosophy is work hard, lift properly, and have a damn good time doing it.
Why did you choose to be an EBOOST Ambassador? What is your favorite EBOOST product? Why?
I choose EBOOST because these products are all natural ingredients, high-quality ingredients, no artificial flavors, & gluten & soy free. EBOOST is a cleaner way to fuel my madness & I believe it will benefit the people I have the privilege to train. My favorite product is the SPRUCE, I appreciate the convenience of the packets when I am on the go and the benefits is just more fuel for the lifestyle. The spruce contains 5 key green vegetables, 3g of prebiotic fiber & is naturally energizing. This product is the first one my clients also come back raving about.
“EBOOST is my clean product that helps me strive in my everyday hustle, it keeps me fueled through the workday and for all the moments that matter.”
What is a typical exercise routine that you follow in the gym, at home, or at any other training location?
A workout routine for me consists of a mix of strength training, HIIT, Yoga, & FRC. I like to use Goal Setting to set goals and obtain them through extensive planning and execution, this allows me to challenge myself on new obstacles and then coach my clients on the ups & downs of my journey. When doing strength training I find it very effective to prioritize the lift, if deadlift is the goal then I will go into my exercise focusing mainly on the deadlift and not getting caught up with other exercises until I hit that goal for the day. For HIIT and Yoga, I love taking new classes & experiencing new concepts. Luckily, living in NYC I have the entire jungle to experience almost a new concept every week. I plan each week for 2 days of HIIT & 1 day of yoga to keep the body limber. Functional Range Conditioning, goes back to my baseball days where tuning the joints was pivotal for staying healthy and in the lineup for the season. The main focus of FRC is controlled articular rotations, unsure what that is? Give me a look at NEO U for my classes or shoot me a DM on instagram alan_filauro would love to inform you.
What is a general diet plan that you follow?
Diet??? More of a lifestyle. This lifestyle consists of a couple simple tricks that keep me fueled and efficient for the concrete jungle. I always start my day off with a proper breakfast, I am addicted to eggs & mixing SPRUCE into every morning meal to ensure intake of my key vegetables, fiber, & natural caffeine. Then moving forward I tend to eat every three hours, snacks are important especially when you’re running around so make sure those macros are consistent. My go to snack are protein bars (ONE Basix) or (Quest Cookies). I tend to eat these depending on the calories I output or just get stuck in a jam at work. Staying consistent every 3 hours allows my body to burn off what I am putting in before eating again and never overeating is key, this will slow you down and nobody has time for that. The main trick to this lifestyle is to always eat whole foods, health is wealth, and it starts in the kitchen.
