We got to sit down with Saira and chat about how she has kept healthy and fit this past year.
E: How are you staying fit without being able to go to the gym?
SM: I built a home gym in my basement. I have two spin bikes, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, resistance bands, and most importantly a 2,000-watt speaker… Because you and I both know that sound is energy.
E: What is your go-to workout people can do at home?
SM: My go to home workout is an equipment free HIIT session.
E: What is your favorite “easy button” meal to make at home?
SM: My favorite meal to make at home is a warm mushroom salad. I use an array of mushrooms, sesame oil, garlic, ghee, sea salt, and cracked black pepper. I serve that over arugula or romaine lettuce.
E: When ordering Door Dash/Uber Eats, how do you make sure you order a healthy meal?
SM: My go-to healthy meal is a pick 2 from Panera. Autumn Squash Soup with a tuna Asian salad.
E: What is keeping you motivated right now?
My career is keeping motivated to stay fit, strong, and healthy. I want to be my best at everything I do, so I work hard at trying and eating healthy.
E: What is your favorite healthy snack?
SM: My favorite healthy snack is cucumbers with sea salt and pepper, or an RX BAR.
E: What is your favorite EBOOST product and why?
SM: My favorite EBOOST product is POW. I have been using it for five years. Members are always asking me how I have so much energy and I always say it’s the POW. I train high-intensity classes all week and this is my favorite pre-workout to take before teaching! I love the energy I get and I don’t feel jittery when I’m done with my workout.
E: What does your morning routine look like? (if you have one)
SM: I wake up every day at 4:30am. I shower, pray, clean the house, make coffee, go through emails and prepare for the day (classes/meetings). Send my four kids to school. Train myself for 45 minutes.
E: What is your motto right now?
SM: Be the change you want to see in the world.
E: If there is one piece of equipment someone could get the most results from while working out at home (or their local park), what would it be
SM: Kettlebell hands down. One train every plane and every muscle in one advanced kettlebell flow. It’s versatile and easy to transport.
