It is practically summertime. You are crushing your workouts, the weather is getting nicer, and don’t you just start craving things to cool you off like slushies, ice cream, popsicles, etc? We sure do. That is why we are bringing you three recipes that will help you cool off while getting in ‘Your Recovery Hero’.
Watermelon BCAAs Slushie
This one is the simplest of the bunch but it cools you off way better than just mixing your BCAAs with water and giving it a good chug.
ingredients
1 serving RESCUE
1 cup of ice
1 cup of water
instructions
- Put everything in a blender and blend. If you need more liquid, add more water.
Vegan Recovery Watermelon Ice Cream
ingredients
1 can full-fat coconut milk
5 pitted Medjool dates
1/8 teaspoon scraped vanilla bean or 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 serving RESCUE
instructions
- Blend all ingredients in a blender and transfer to a cake pan.
- Place in the freezer for 3 hours (or until hardened).
- Place mixture back into a blender and blend. You might need to break this up beforehand to get into the blender.
- Blend until a creamy consistency is reached.
- Place back the freezer in a large bowl for about 25 minutes.
- Serve.
Watermelon Popsicles
ingredients
1 serving RESCUE
8 ounces of water
1 cup plain greek yogurt
2 TBS lime juice
add-ins fruit chunks like cherries, strawberries, raspberries, etc.
instructions
- Mix everything together in a pitcher.
- Pour into popsicles molds, leaving room at the top.
- Drop-in chunks of fruit.
- Place in the freezer until hardened.
- Enjoy.
