In a perfect world, we could point at our imperfections and tell them to go away. In a perfect world, we could pinch our problem areas and tell our bodies to lose fat there first. In a perfect world, our bodies would be perfect. Yet, we are not in a perfect world but our bodies are uniquely ours and make each and every one of us beautiful. However, if you are looking to drop some body fat or looking to maintain a lower body fat then there are certainly some ‘golden rules’ to follow that can be huge reasons for the success in your goals. This can also help to try and target those trouble areas because if you are dropping body fat then you are bound to drop it in the places you don’t like too.
Be in a Calorie Deficiency
In all the lists you can read about how to drop some body fat, this one will always be listed – you need to burn more calories than you are consuming. This doesn’t mean that if you eat 2,000 calories then you need to turn on your fitness tracker and make sure you burn 2,000 calories. This could drive you insane and literally take you hours to accomplish. What is important to remember is that your body just being away or even resting for that matter is burning calories. To really hone in on your exact amount of calories your body burns by just living then you will need to figure out your metabolic rate. But all in all more calories should be leaving your body than are entering your body.
Your BFF Should be Protein
Protein and you go together like peas and carrots–at least that is what Forrest Gump says. Every day you should be aiming at getting around as many grams as number of pounds you weigh. This means actual protein grams, not grams of food that contains protein. Protein is what our muscles need to repair and keep lean muscle strong. The easiest way to track to make sure you are consuming enough protein is to use a tracking app on your phone. If you find it very hard to consume enough protein than the recommended amount, then we would suggest taking a protein supplement like our EBOOST PRIME which is a grass-fed whey protein that comes in chocolate and vanilla.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleeping more doesn’t really mean that you will burn more calories, it is more of a direct effect on how you feel each day when it comes to your energy level, how your central nervous system is behaving and your bodies ability to grow and repair that muscle of yours. Typically when you feel well rested, then you make better choices and have the energy to expel more calories in your workouts.
If you are trying to lose your body fat with a cardio only approach, then you will just be running your butt off, literally. If you are just running and not focusing on any strength training, then you will just be burning away your lean muscle with each run. See your metabolism is directly correlated with lean muscle tissue, so if burn your lean muscle away, then you’ll be burning your metabolism into the ground too. If you have a slow metabolism then you will lose fat slower and gain fat quicker in the long run.
