But seriously – almond milk may be one of the easiest healthy things I have ever made.
I think there is a sense of thinking a healthy item is too complicated to make on your own. This can be true for some things, but for almond milk, it is way too easy to not do at home. I may even dare to say that I think homemade tastes better and has a creamier texture. I guess you’ll have to try and home to find out for yourself though!
Easy Homemade Almond Milk
Really this recipe can be used for any type of nut milk.
1 cup raw almonds
3 cups filtered water
pink of salt
1 tsp pure vanilla
nut bag or cheese cloth
if you want your nuts to truly be raw, then soak them overnight to get them sprouting
place all ingredients into your high-speed blender
blend until all the nuts are chopped up into super tiny pieces… so about a minute or two
place the cheese cloth on top of the container you want your milk in
pour mixture through cheese cloth/nut bag into a container
you may have to pour slow, as sometimes it takes a bit to get the nut milk to strain through the cloth
once everything is strained, place your nut milk in the fridge to cool down
feel free to use the nut remains for nut butter, or place into your fav recipe
